25th Anniversary of the University of Macau (Continued)

Com o objectivo de desenvolver localmente o ensino superior, a administração de Macau, com base na antiga Universidade da Ásia Oriental, criada em 1981, criou a nova Universidade de Macau.

Desde essa data, a Universidade de Macau tem vindo a formar profissionais qualificados nas mais diversas áreas, para a comunidade local.

A Universidade é constituída pelas seguintes faculdades:

A coexistência das culturas chinesa e ocidental, são uma marca das ruas de Macau. Este é um fenómeno, raramente encontrado em outros locais do mundo.

A presente emissão filatélica, insere-se no âmbito da inscrição do ‘Centro Histórico de Macau’ como Património Mundial da UNESCO.

As ruas representadas são as seguintes: Rua de S. Domingos, Rua de Camilo Pessanha, a Calçada de S. Francisco Xavier e a Travessa da Paixão, desenhadas nos quatro selos e ainda o Largo de Santo Agostinho no bloco filatélico.

The coexistence of Chinese and Western cultures, are a mark of the streets of Macau. This is a phenomenon, rarely found elsewhere in the world.

This philatelic issue, is part of the inscrition of the "Historic Center of Macau" as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The streets are represented as follows: St. Dominic Street, Camilo Pessanha Street, S. Francisco Xavier Steep Path and the Paixão Alley, designed the four stamps and the Santo Agostinho’s Square in the souvenir sheet.

O Concurso Nacional de Invenções Técnico-Ciêntificas para Jovens (CASTIC) é um concurso organizado para toda a juventude da China e que visa a promoção do desenvolvimento de actividades ligadas à ciência e à tecnologia dos jovens.

A XXI edição do evento coube ao Governo da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, com o apoio de diversos organismos entre os dias 3 e 7 de Agosto de 2006.

Da primeira edição, fica a emblemática frase, do hitórico líder chinês Deng Xiaoping: “Os jovens são o futuro e a esperança para a ciência e a tecnologia na nossa pátria.”.

The CHINA Adolencests Science and Technology Invention Contest (CASTIC) is a competition organized for all the youth of China and to promote the development of activities related to science and technology among young people.

The XXI edition of the event had the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, supported by various organizations between days 3 and 7 August 2006.

For the first edition, the historic Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping wrote the following dedicatory: "Adolescents are the future of our motherland, the hope of science.".

Kam Hang (1918-2004) é um famoso pintor de Macau, natural de Shunde, província de Guangdong. Formado em Belas-Artes, pela pela escola de Guangshou, após a Guerra com o Japão, concentrou-se no estudo das belas artes ocidentais.

As pinturas dos leques, representados nos selos e bloco filatéico desta emissão, são da sua autoria.

Kam Hang (1918-2004) is a famous painter of Macau, a native of Shunde, Guangdong province. Graduated in Fine Arts, the school of Guangshou, after the war with Japan, focused on the study of Western art.
The paintings on fans, represented in stamps and souvenir sheet issue is its authorship.
The subjects represented are:

The Jubilee of the Bamboo
