Shek Wan, localizado no sudoeste da cidade de Foshan, provincial de Guangdong, é o mais importante centro de produção de cerâmica e cuja história, remonta ao Neolítico.
As técnicas de cozedura, em fornos alongados, tiveram o o maior desenvolvimento durante a Dinastia Tang (618-907), com a chegada de diversos povos à China, através da famosa Rota da Seda.
O design dos selos, está baseado na melhor colecção do mundo, de Cerâmica Shek Wan, exixtente no Museu de Arte de Macau.
